DEI Event

Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn how to use the EDI Audit Tool effectively!
From October 2024 employers will be subject to a new statutory duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment. Tribunals will be able to uplift sexual harassment compensation by up to 25% where an employer has breached the new duty.
This supplements the existing requirement to have taken all reasonable steps to have prevented discrimination or harassment, should an employer defending such a claim wish to disclaim legal responsibility.
A great DEI programme is more than a tick-box exercise; it should enable colleagues throughout the organisation to see DEI as integral to everything the organisation does. An effective DEI programme should help significantly with employee recruitment, engagement and retention, satisfaction and motivation, as well as creating a culture that’s inclusive for all.
However:
· what if you haven’t got a DEI strategy or programme?
· what if you have, but you aren’t sure how effective it is?
· do you know how likely your organisation is to be able to establish the “reasonable steps” duty/defence?
· do you know how to drive your DEI strategy forward?
This event will explore the new legal duty and outline the practical steps that organisations should be taking to not only meet legal requirements but to embed DEI throughout the organisation – whatever the current stage of the journey.
