About this event

This event aims to equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful difference to supporting your employees

Join us for an important and sensitive discussion on how to support employees through early pregnancy loss—pregnancies that end before 24 weeks. We'll be sharing insights from recent research that looks at how organisations can help their employees during such difficult times. The session will explore key issues for employees and practical ways in HR professionals and managers can make a real difference in the lives of those affected.

We’ll also talk about the current CIPD guidelines on baby loss and highlight practical steps companies can take to support their staff—both emotionally and professionally—when they experience early pregnancy loss.

This event aims to equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful difference in supporting their employees during one of the most challenging times of their lives

  1. Understanding the Emotional and Physical Impact: how early pregnancy loss affects individuals both emotionally and physically, and why it’s essential for employers to understand these experiences.
  2. Creating a Supportive Workplace Culture: How can organisations foster an environment where employees feel safe discussing pregnancy loss without fear of judgment or career impact?
  3. Leave entitlements: what is good practice around leave entitlements?
  4. Balancing Career and Personal Recovery: How can organisations support employees in transitioning back to work while respecting their grief and personal recovery process?
  5. Ongoing Support for Employees: Discussing how to offer long-term support beyond the immediate aftermath of loss—such as phased return-to-work plans, counselling services, and reasonable adjustments.
