Leanne McKeown
(Director and Head of Employment)
Leanne is considered one of the Island’s employment law experts, and has been ranked across various legal directories as a leading practitioner for more than 10 years. She advises on all aspects of employment, equality and industrial relations law, from workplace investigations to restrictive covenants as well as privacy matters. Leanne is the “go to” employment advisor for many of the Island’s e-gaming businesses as well as several large employers within the financial services sector and as such often deals with high-value/high-complexity matters.
Leanne has also represented a number of Island-based unions, including advising a teachers’ union, on matters concerning industrial action short of notice and notably represented the Manx Industrial Relations Service in High Court proceedings.
Leanne is renowned for offering pragmatic and commercial advice which is cognisant of wider strategic considerations of the client business. As she is a qualified data protection practitioner, she also provides employment related data protection advice, including complex DSAR requests.

Mark Emery
(Director)
Mark has a broad range of experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious issues in employment law and has a number of reported decisions in the Isle of Man Employment and Equality Tribunal and Isle of Man High Court.
Notably Mark successfully represented the Public Services Commission and the Public Sector Pensions Authority in respect of the validity of a compromise agreement and a claim for an alleged substantial pension entitlement.
Mark also heads up DQ’s Insolvency and Restructuring team which also enables him to advise on employment matters arising from such corporate actions.

Joshua Quinn
(Associate Director)
Joshua advises clients on contentious employment matters, which includes unfair dismissals, breaches of confidentiality and discrimination cases. Joshua has particular expertise in negotiating exits of senior employees and executives, particularly within a contentious environment.
Joshua is a leading and experienced court room advocate, both before the Employment & Equality Tribunal and the High Court, and notably represented the Department of Home Affairs (Fire & Rescue Service) in an unfair dismissal claim following a protected disclosure.

Lizzie Beard

Since qualifying in 2023, Lizzie has been assisting the employment team in all areas of employment law, steadily building up her practice both in the contentious and non-contentious work. Lizzie has a particular interest in equality matters and provides such training to businesses and organisations.
