Regular employment law update session for HR and business professionals.

About this event

Regular employment law update session for HR and business professionals.

The CIPD Humber Branch is delighted to be teaming up once again with our regular speakers Lee Whiting and Nicola Barrass of Barrass Whiting LLP to present an employment law update which will be highly relevant for HR and business professionals. Lee and Nicola have both specialised in employment law for more than 20 years.

Lee and Nicola will explore the following areas:

  • Recent and anticipated employment legislation, including the new Government’s plans for major employment law reform (e.g. the proposed introduction of unfair dismissal as a ‘day one’ right after a probationary period); and
  • Recent Tribunal decisions of interest to HR and business professionals, including cases which cover;

- Disability and other strands of discrimination law

- Misconduct dismissals

- Dismissals in the context of a breakdown in working relationships

The sessions will last for approximately one and a half hours, including time spent answering questions. Relevant questions can be asked in advance to humber@cipdbranch.co.uk

Refreshments will be available on arrival for delegates attending the in-person seminar, at 08.45 for a 09.00 start.

Numbers are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
