The CIPD has launched its first  Advisory Committee in Malaysia. This regional first brings together distinguished HR leaders and practitioners from across industries, sparking thought leadership and innovation, while championing enhanced people management standards in the country.

Chaired by Datuk (Dr) Nora Abd Manaf, Chartered FCIPD, Group Chief Human Capital Officer of Maybank, the committee aims to foster the development of HR capabilities, tackle industry challenges, and forge strong relationships with key stakeholders in Malaysia. This assembly of distinguished members will play a pivotal role in guiding the CIPD’s outreach, research, and engagement strategy, ensuring the timely delivery of impactful information and initiatives to the wider community of HR professionals in Malaysia.

"This is a significant step forward in our collective journey to shape the future of HR in the region. Through the committee, we cement our dedication to cultivating a dynamic, strategic, and impactful HR landscape, resonating with professionals and organisations."

Peter Cheese, Chief Executive, CIPD

Throughout her two-year tenure, Datuk Nora will bring a unique voice to Malaysia's HR community. Her appointment highlights the CIPD's dedication to leveraging Malaysia's top HR leaders for transformation and her ability to unite industry leaders to shape the nation's HR landscape, in line with the CIPD's purpose.

"I am honoured to lead the CIPD Advisory Committee and contribute to the advancement of HR practices in Malaysia. By fostering collaboration and sharing best practices, we aim to elevate HR standards and, in turn, the people profession, which ultimately supports businesses in achieving sustained growth."

Datuk Nora Abd Manaf, Chartered FCIPD, Group Chief Human Capital Officer, Maybank

In celebration of its commitment to HR excellence in Malaysia, the CIPD recently held a roundtable dialogue in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) International University, to explore critical HR topics in the region. UNITAR also conferred the title of Visiting Professorial Fellow to Peter Cheese at the event, further reinforcing the CIPD’s dedication to nurturing knowledge-sharing and expertise in the region.

Notably, during this event, the CIPD also welcomed ten distinguished HR practitioners to the Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) membership. These individuals stand as the gold standard for HR excellence, setting a benchmark for the profession.

“HR professionals play a critical role in helping organisations navigate the challenges and opportunities of this dynamic environment. The CIPD is proud to support HR practitioners in Malaysia and across the APAC in creating better work and better workplaces.”
