Mary Connaughton will conclude her role next month after more than 10 years, continuing to represent CIPD in Ireland on the Board of the European Association of People Management
The CIPD in Ireland has announced that Mary Connaughton, strategic engagement director, will retire from the CIPD next month following more than 10 years of service in the role.
She will continue to represent CIPD in Ireland as a director on the Board of the European Association of People Management (EAPM), supporting the strategic development of HR and people management bodies across Europe.
“It has been a great privilege to have worked with the CIPD in Ireland and to be inspired by the commitment and passion of the HR community to improve working lives. I am excited for this next chapter and to contribute further to the development of HR bodies and EAPM services across Europe.”
Reflecting on Connaughton’s contribution, Peter Cheese, CEO of the CIPD, acknowledged the impact of her leadership on the membership community in Ireland.
Cheese said:
“With her many years of experience and recognition across employment in Ireland, Mary has positively championed professionalism and engagement across our membership for the last 10 years. We are grateful for all she has done and look forward to staying connected through her work with the EAPM.”
Chair of the CIPD in Ireland board, Joyce Rigby-Jones also highlighted Connaughton’s influence across the HR community in Ireland, noting:

The CIPD in Ireland expressed thanks to Connaughton for her dedication to the profession, acknowledging her role in supporting the growth of the Institute’s presence and impact over the last decade.
