The CIPD   is delighted to have won ‘Best Professional Membership Organisation’ and ‘Best Lobbying Campaign’ for #Flexfrom1st at last night’s Memcom Excellence Awards 2023. The awards celebrate the dedication and work of teams across the CIPD to champion better work and working lives. 

There is no business without people, and the award for ‘Best Professional Membership Organisation’ recognises the CIPD’s role as the partner, voice and benchmark for the profession that supports and enables people within organisations.  We impressed the judges with our three-pronged strategy for bringing our purpose to life:

• Growing a strong community of professionals united behind a common goal
• Making the case for better work and advocating for the profession
• Improving how we work as a sustainable, future-fit organisation.

Our ‘Best Lobbying Campaign’ #Flexfrom1st launched in February 2019, calling on organisations and the UK Government to make flexible working a day-one right to request. The campaign span across communications and policy teams to raise awareness of the benefits to people and organisations of flexible working, alongside our work with the UK Government on the Flexible Working Taskforce. The day-one right will soon be a reality with new legislation set to come into effect next year, enabling millions of workers greater work flexibility.

The Memcom Awards 2023 took place in London on Tuesday 26 September. The yearly event celebrates innovation and creativity in the membership sector.
