People and culture
To deliver our mission of better work and working lives, we rely on the exceptional talent and skills of our people. We offer a stimulating and energising culture, where people can be their best and deliver great outcomes for our members and customers.
Our work environment
We want our people to feel supported and inspired at the CIPD, whatever their role.
We offer a generous annual 28 days’ holiday (on top of bank holidays) and the ability to work flexibly. Our award-winning pension scheme is available to all, as is access to our Employee Assistance Programme, wellbeing activities and financial wellbeing support. Everyone benefits from an annual personal development allowance as well as supported, paid time for volunteering.
Bitesize learning sessions offer the opportunity to discuss what’s going on in the business and beyond. Alongside wellbeing activities such as yoga, choir and book club, we make sure there is ample opportunity to keep both your brain and your body healthy.
Our values are at the heart of how we work. Recognising and rewarding our people who live and breathe our values happens through our recognition platform, Moments We Value.
Listening to our people is vital to us. Through our regular Voice surveys, we hear what’s great about working at the CIPD and take action wherever improvements can be made.
Our commitment to inclusion and diversity
To achieve our ambitions, we need a diverse workforce who can offer a range of skills and perspectives. We have a number of thriving colleague networks including LGBT+, ethnic minority, wellbeing, parents, faith, and disability representation. These groups all sit within our Inclusion & Diversity Steering Group, which meets regularly to share ideas, support one another and give the business their steer on key initiatives.
Encouraging conversations about race, to promote understanding and to collaborate with the wider organisation to create a healthy and inclusive working environment.

The LGBT+ and Friends group came together in August 2016 to improve the diversity and inclusion of LGBT identities at the CIPD.

We are proud to be:
- a signatory on the Race at Work charter
- a Disability Confident Leader
- a member of Working Forward (for pregnant women and new parents)
- a Time to Change Pledged Employer (for mental health)
- a Living Wage Champion
